The statement dismisses the idea that HCG aids in weight loss and also expresses concern about the low-calorie nature of the diet. The only reason people lose weight on the HCG diet is because they are following a starvation diet, they say. Martindale said he has been happy for his patients who have lost weight on the HCG diet, because that weight loss improved their health. Lisa Kirk, a Waco doctor who is medical director of B-Ki Medical Weight Management, said she plans to continue offering the HCG diet because of the success patients have had with it. read more
