Protein supplements for men; they’re suppose to build muscle mass–but how effective are they? Eating disorders in our female athletes has grabbed the headlines for many years, but what about the male athletes? While they too can struggle with an eating disorder, another phenomenon has emerged that appears more problematic and that is the development of muscle mass. Visit any of the area gyms or health stores and you will be amazed at the magnitude of protein supplements. I spoke with a number of physicians and unanimously, they all agreed that they would not recommend these types of supplements.
