AUGUSTA, GA (WTOC) - It's been more than two months since the deadly explosions and fire at the sugar refinery in Port Wentworth. The road to recovery for Imperial Sugar patients is slowly moving from the ICU to the rehabilitation unit. Once patients leave the ICU, they come to the rehab center where they learn how to walk and talk, and some patients actually relearn basic functions, like brushing their teeth or buttoning a shirt. The typical length of stay for rehab patients is between six weeks and two months. read more
